ABOUT DAVID VELD

David serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of BDO Canada LLP and previously served as the Chair of the Strategy and Execution Committee. David has more than 25 years of experience providing assurance, accounting and advisory services to clients in multiple sectors, with a specialization in pensions, other employee benefit funds and labour organizations. As the national leader of BDO’s Pension and Benefits Group, David is responsible for firm-based pension and benefits industry initiatives, advising clients and industry organizations, and sharing information on relevant pension and other employee benefit plan issues with BDO offices across the country. David has utilized his extensive knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to key pension regulatory bodies and associations such as the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP). Considered a thought leader in the pension and benefits sector, David is the Chair of the Accounting Standards Board of Canada (AcSB) Pension Plan Advisory Committee and was the Chair of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario Pension Accounting and Assurance Advisory Committee (20••••19). David has been appointed to the Editorial Advisory Panel of the “Plans and Trusts” industry magazine published by the IFEBP. He is also a regular speaker at pension and benefit industry conferences and has authored numerous publications for this industry sector.
