About David V. Gioe
I am an internationally recognized academic scholar of intelligence and a veteran professional practitioner of the craft. I bring a quarter century of \'pracademic\' experience balanced between academia and government/military service. On the practitioner side, my experience ranges across civilian government, military, corporate, and law enforcement intelligence. I have particular expertise in intelligence analysis, human intelligence operations, counterintelligence, and covert action. On the academic side, I have published widely, including peer-reviewed journal articles, a co-authored history of the CIA (Edinburgh University Press, 2020), two co-edited books (Routledge 2013 and 2024), several book chapters, commentary essays, and op-ed articles. I believe in building bridges of understanding between the intelligence community and the public it serves. My passion is teaching, and I have taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels in civilian and military contexts. Investing in students is an investment in the next generation of intelligence and national security leaders.Google Scholar: & hl=en
