I serve as the Department Chair of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Auburn University while also holding the Elton & Lois G. Huff Eminent Scholar Chair. I teach and conduct research in pavements & materials with particular emphasis on structural design and analysis of flexible pavement systems. Much of my research is conducted at the National Center for Asphalt Technology Pavement Test Track and I am a registered professional engineer in Alabama.
