About David Tamez
My name is David Tamez, I am a PhD in philosophy. My work focuses on normative accounts of jurisprudence with a focus on the use of non-legal reasons for judicial decision-making. Recently, my work has focused on how courts can and should deal with emerging technologies (i.e. deepfakes, chatgpt, algorithmic governance, and so on). I am currently an Assistant Research Professor with the Institute for Information Sciences. In this role, I work closely with the Center for Cyber-Social Dynamics in developing research opportunities taking a critical look at the impacts emerging technologies have on social norms and institutions.
