Chartered Engineer from the marine and offshore oil and gas sectors. Ten years with Lloyd’s Register including secondment to UK Department of Energy for hook-up and commissioning of 4 oil and gas platforms in the North Sea: Shell Tern, Shell Kittiwake, Total North Alwyn B and BP South East Forties.Jumped across to the renewable energy sector as an entrepreneur 33 years ago because of climate change threat.Co-founder of the B9 Energy group of companies: development of 10 onshore wind farm sites and O&M services on 49. Also development of 2 offshore wind sites, industrial scale AD and now Energy Storage.Focussed on Power-to-X and Power-to-liquids projects that use electrolysers (green hydrogen) to provide balancing load for otherwise curtailed wind farms. Happy to be working again in the maritime sector to produce green e-methanol as a displacement for fossil fuels on ro-ro freight ferries and container ships.
