About David Street
I believe that food is a human right, but storytelling is the bridge that secures it.My career has been defined by a simple mission: moving the needle on food insecurity by building authentic partnerships between grassroots organizers, faith-based leaders, and national institutions. As an Afro-Latino leader born and raised in the DMV, I understand that systemic change requires more than just resources—it requires a seat at the table for those with lived experience. How I help others:Food Access & Community Partnerships: Leading community engagement at the highest levels to address the root causes of hunger, particularly in Black and Brown communities.Faith-Rooted Advocacy: Partnering with faith organizations to mobilize their unique moral and social capital for community wellness.Digital Storytelling: Through StreetWork Communications, I help nonprofits and government agencies stop \"documenting\" and start \"narrating\"—using high-impact video and strategy to turn passive audiences into active advocates.Strategic Partnerships: Whether through LGW or the Aspen Institute, I connect the \"grasstops\" to the \"grassroots\" to create sustainable local impact.Let’s collaborate to build a more equitable DMV and beyond.
