ABOUT DAVID SPRAGUE

I am a second generation Berkeley firefighter and third generation Berkeley resident. I was hired by the BFD as a firefighter/paramedic in 2001 and served as paramedic supervisor, apparatus operator, special operations lieutenant, training captain, captain, assistant fire chief of training and ems, deputy fire chief and fire chief. I was an active member of US & R Task Force 4 and deployed to Katrina, served as director, secretary and president of IAFF Local 1227 cumulatively for 15 years, was President of FireNuggets, Inc. for six years (a national non-profit dedicated to fire service training) and I\'ve been an active in pushing the Department to be progressive, innovative and employee centric for my whole career.
