About David Sochar

Acorn Woodworks was started as a personal reaction to the low level of craft in the architectural woodwork industry. I found that many people - builders, owners and designers - felt as I did, that there is a place for well crafted products of good design and utility. I left my last real job in 1990 and started Acorn Woodworks. We have slowly but steadily grown over the years, while expanding our capabilities and market. We purchased a s/f facility in Westfield early in 2007 to house shop and offices. The company has grown to where we now enjoy a reputation as the most experienced and capable shop of its type in the state. We often hear the statement \"I didn\'t think anybody did this kind of work anymore.\"Specialties: Exterior and Interior door design and fabrication, historical awareness and know how for reproduction and new work. Extensive experience with curved and twisted work such as curved stairs, circular work, and compound curves. Combined personnel experience exceeds 200 years.
