ABOUT DAVID SIMM

Back in 2004, I founded Scantime Engineering Ltd. and began utilising my 35+ years of experience in Industry to provide PLC/SCADA Training and Automation design & troubleshooting services to companies worldwide with my the help of my Scantime team.To date, i\'m proud to say some of our customers are Jaguar Landrover, Mars, Hitachi, Taylormade Timber, GE Aviation and also Toyota USA.Recent automation sucesses, we undertook PLC program redesign for a client and increased their production output by 25%, we are now working with them to reduce their energy bills by over a year.In 2017 we developed new training courses for engineer\'s, its main objective is to reduce downtime, the biggest problem of all manufacturers, designed for maintenance engineers who will be working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), the courses are now EAL recognised and are available for all major PLCs - Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron - called EAL PLC IMFFP \"Industrial Maintenance & Fault Finding Professional\". My eldest son Chris is now a Director in the company, I started teaching him PLCs before he left High School at the age of 15, and now at 25 yrs old he programs all major PLCs and SCADA. So what are my plans, after working in industry since 1968 and seeing the many technology advances, I still have no plans to retire, I enjoy working, probably as it is my own business. However when i get a chance to take a break, took my first flight in a cessna take off from Newcastle International, i like to read historic novels, go the the Gym 4 times a week and at my age it is essential, travelling abroad and target pistol shooting, I was an instructor back in the 1970\'s and took part in many national competitions, and I may say was pretty good with both rifle and pistol.
