ABOUT DAVID SHEWARD

Communications professional in media, arts, and journalism, also experienced in event planning, visitor relations, experiential marketing. While serving in various positions at Backstage newspaper and website, managed the weekly publication of the print editions and constant updates to the website, wrote and edited articles and reviews, and supervised a large staff, trafficking articles, casting notices, photos, etc. from submission to publication. One of my main duties was organizing the annual Actorfest event for Backstage readers to connect with casting directors, agents, and other industry professionals. As president of the Drama Desk, the organization of theater reviewers and reporters, I organized numerous panels on topics of interest to the theater community and helped run the annual Drama Desk Awards and related media events. Strengths include excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytic skills; excellent adaptability to changing organizational dynamics; ability to work collaboratively across organizational lines; desire to advance change and improvement; organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent project management skills.
