About David Scherer

I am currently the Division Manager of Commerce Bank\'s Energy Banking Division. I have worked in the energy banking field for over 15 years. In my current role, I am responsible for managing a team of energy banking professionals, developing and executing a growth strategy in multiple markets, ensuring quality underwriting standards and building and maintaining a profitable portfolio comprised of quality borrowers. Further, I actively develop new business, monitor and manage sensitive credit relationships with higher dollar exposure, negotiate loan proposals, analyze and evaluate credit requests, and write loan commitments. Prior to working at Commerce Bank, I worked in the Energy Division at Bank of Oklahoma. At Bank of Oklahoma, I was a graduate of the Accelerated Career Track Program which recruits and trains high performing college graduates. I hold a Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance from the University of Tulsa where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2008.
