About David Sarkany
My name is David Sarkany, and I am a fellowship trained body imaging radiologist and Program Director of the Radiology Residency program at Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health. I have been involved in radiology medical education since I graduated in 2005 and have enjoyed expanding my role in academic radiology. I consider myself to be both a clinician and an educator, and I have graduated from the MGH Institute of Health Professions with a Master of Science in Health Professions Education. My training at MGH has introduced me to the current field of curriculum design, assessment, medical student needs, inter-professional education, simulation and the most effective teaching methodologies. I have been significantly involved with the newest ideas and thoughts in medical education; attending some of the Harvard Macy Institute conferences lead by leaders in medical education such as Dr. Elizabeth Armstrong and Clayton Christensen (Harvard Business School). Clinically, I am a Fellowship trained Body Imager and read Thoracic, GI, and GU. I consider my clinical duties a privilege and consistently offer patient-centered care. I believe it is important for Radiologists to be involved in more direct patient care.
