About David Weston
Experienced Project Engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-value, high-risk construction projects across the oil, gas, petrochemical, energy, and mining sectors. I bring end-to-end project lifecycle experience, from front-end engineering through construction, commissioning, and client handover, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and cost performance. Now based in Texas, I’m part of Worley’s project delivery team on ExxonMobil’s Blue Hydrogen expansion at Baytown. As Interface Lead, I’m responsible for coordinating land acquisition and managing third-party utility interfaces, enabling infrastructure disinvestment critical to establishing the project footprint.Previously, I was embedded in the construction and engineering team on the Woodsmith Mine Project in the UK. I led the delivery of complex scopes including rope changes, rescue winders, and water inflow mitigation, balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day coordination across disciplines and vendors.Throughout my career, I’ve supported top-tier organizations including Worley, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Lucite/Mitsubishi, Engie, Wood, Balfour Beatty, and Cordell Group. I build strong working relationships with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to drive successful delivery in challenging environments.Key Achievements:• Woodsmith Mine Project: Delivered the shaft fore-collar and road-header scope, from construction through successful commissioning and handover.• Teesside Oil Terminal (ConocoPhillips): Led installation and commissioning of a new Emerson DeltaV ESD system, executed in parallel with live systems using a hot cutover strategy, avoiding plant shutdowns.• Propane Storage Facility (Worley/ConocoPhillips / Engie Fabricom): Managed E&I construction and completions through the pandemic with zero LTIs and on-budget delivery.Specialties:Project Engineering | Interface Management | Project Planning & Delivery | Construction Management | Electrical & Instrumentation | Stakeholder Engagement | Commissioning | DCS/PLC Systems | Ex / IS Circuits | EPC Project Execution | Safety Leadership | Risk & Quality Management
Experience
Senior Project Engineer Interface Manager
Jan 2026 — Present · Houston, TX, US
I’ve recently stepped into the role of Interface Manager on the Petro Rabigh Bottom of the Barrel FEED project with Worley. The role focuses on coordinating delivery across multiple offices, licensors and client stakeholders, ensuring design, quantities, and key technical decisions remain aligned as the project moves at an accelerated pace toward investment planning. My work centers on interface governance, design maturity alignment, estimate and quantity integration, and helping teams navigate complex cross-organization dependencies so decisions are clear, traceable and actionable. It’s a challenging program with a strong global delivery model, and a great opportunity to continue developing in large-scale project delivery
