Programme Management Advisor to the New Hospitals Programme @Mace
I am currently working as Programme Management advisor to the New Hospitals programme. This major public infrastructure programme will deliver 48 new hospitals. I have worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and have been a Director of Mace for the last 10 years. I have had a varied career initially training as a quantity surveyor with a major contractor before joining Mace to work as a Cost Manager working on a number of construction management commissions including the new European Headquarters for a major bank near St Pauls, London. In 2002, I transferred to Mace’s growing consultancy business were I developed a career in Programme and Project Management. In 2012 I was promoted as the Director responsible for the London and South East Public Sector Consultancy business and I have held various senior posts since then.I am commercially astute and have worked with varying procurement routes including traditional, design and build and private finance initiatives. I have worked on a wide range of project types spanning the conservation of historic buildings, through refurbishment to new build facilities and infrastructure. The wide range of clients I have worked with include central government, local authorities and other public sector clients as well as a number of market leading private sector clients.Alongside my operational role, I also lead the adoption of Oracle Fusion across Mace’s consultancy business.I take a keen interest in developing the people who work for Mace, taking an active role in Mace’s apprentice and graduate programmes and the support programme to help Mace employees become members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
