   Nia Tero works in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples to uphold and expand their self-determined guardianship of collective territory. To achieve this mission, we focus on the following:1. We provide funds through grant-making and contracts to Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, networks, and trusted allies.2. We strengthen Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, networks, and leaders through fellowships, apprenticeships, and access to specialized support.3. We increase the access of Indigenous partners to funders, policymakers, film industry experts, and any other technical experts and networks they seek.More than 50 percent of our annual budget goes directly to Indigenous organizations and their trusted allies to support Indigenous Peoples in their efforts to protect their ways of life and territories. With our budget balance, we invest in capacity-building initiatives, fund Indigenous networks and organizations, create original storytelling and communications campaigns, and advance global and regional policies. We have established enduring partnerships with over 200 Indigenous Peoples around the world. We work in solidarity with and provide support to their self-determined vision to achieve guardianship of their territories, often in the face of physical attacks, territorial destruction, extractive industries, and climate change.
