   I am responsible to plan, organize, implement, operations and programs in the Jail Division. I assign and direct subordinates, ensuring that all policy, rules, regulations, orders, procedures and directives are enforced and implemented. I am responsible for making decisions and recommendations in the hiring, promotion, transfer, discipline or discharge of employees in accordance with policy and procedures. I provide supervision and interpretation of procedures to supervisors and personnel. I develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for operations and insure that these are readily available to personnel. Manage supervisors and counsel personnel as required. Develop job descriptions, employee objectives, and perform supervisory employee performance evaluations. Provide professional development guidance for all assigned personnel. Receive complaints and notification of the grievances of the employees, and use independent judgment in making recommendations to effectively adjust. I prepare and manage the Division budget and prepare reports and analysis as required. Responsible for the fiscal status of Division operations, this includes: managing accounts receivable; managing accounts payable; and supervising a finance clerk. I research, plan, organize, and conduct training as required. Responsible for training of Division personnel in compliance with the State\'s certification program and Sheriff\'s objectives. I utilize a variety of computer systems to prepare data for program evaluation requirements. Manage programs related to the housing, booking, and releasing of inmates. I communicate with a variety of agencies regarding the Jail Division operations. These include: Commissioners, Council, Judges, Legislators, Insurance, Department of Corrections, Attorney\'s, Clergy and medical professionals.I manage all contracted services in the Division. These contracts include: inmate housing, food service, commissary/phone service, and health service.
