In the competitive marketplace, a successful business must learn to achieve a level of profitability. Measuring profitability is important, but it is only one of the key indicators in a balanced approach when measuring the success of the business. Improving profitability involves determining which areas of our financial, quality and delivery strategies are working and which ones need immediate improvement. Our team is involved in these strategies and Kaizens by challenging thinking, building a sense of urgency and being a team advocate helping teams move forward.Currently, working as the lead for the Lean Core team, we facilitate or drive over 100x Kaizen, Structured Problem Solving and Round Tables a year events. This year has a focus on Maintenance efficiency including wrench time improvements, Tool productivity improvement including multi-million dollar capital avoidance projects, facilitating our senior leadership teams startegy for two Fabs. My role has also been as a team advocate to bypass ingrained communication filters, so we understand and work on the real problems or gaps. We have also had very good success deploying running a Path to Profitability process (P2P) which is an operational structure to make it visible if \"Cost Centers\" are working within acceptable parameters versus Cost Centers not meeting cost challenges. The combination of \"Facilitated LEAN Thinking\" sessions and the projects above help us understand key quality, cost delivery targets, KPI’s and realized financial gains to assist cost centers in developing an effective competitive strategies for our company. When employees, systems, customers and management are all working together, the business can weather difficult economic cycles and withstand competition in the marketplace. We are tied to the success of the business. Our role is not to react, but help teams to think differently from the past, challenge our culture to \"see\" things differently in order to improve, grow and survive.
