ABOUT DAVID PERRY

David is an award winning London based CTO with deep expertise in AI enabled banking, challenger banks, and next generation financial platforms. He has a proven track record of designing and delivering cloud native, data driven financial services, pioneering AI first architectures that integrate AI, Data Lakehouse technologies, Event Driven Architecture, and Distributed Ledger Technology into the core fabric of banking operations.Most recently, David has led the development of the UK’s first truly AI enabled digital bank, where AI is not just a bolt on feature but is deeply embedded in infrastructure, decision making, and customer experience. At Vemi, he has redefined the build vs. buy paradigm by leveraging AI driven automation, making in house capability development more cost effective and scalable than traditional SaaS solutions.With extensive experience in both traditional and Islamic banking technology, David has played a key role in multiple banking and e-money licence applications across the UK and EU. His expertise spans cloud first architectures, microservices, AI driven decisioning, and regulatory compliance. He has successfully implemented hybrid onshore/offshore development models, using AI enhanced delivery efficiencies to accelerate financial innovation.Beyond technology execution, David is passionate about bridging the gap between AI and financial services, ensuring that AI is used not just for automation, but as a fundamental enabler of better, smarter, and more ethical banking solutions.
