David Banks is president and CEO of AdventHealth, a national health care system comprised of a growing footprint of 50+ hospital campuses, care sites and team members across the enterprise. David’s career with AdventHealth began more than three decades ago. Throughout his tenure, he’s been a champion of AdventHealth’s faith-based legacy, mission and brand promise of whole-person care for its team members, clinical front-line teams, patients and communities. David began his professional life as a psychiatric social worker – and from there, his passion for whole-person care only grew. As he continued his career, working as an administrator for several facilities in AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division, he developed deep expertise and insight into what is required operationally and strategically to deliver on the promise of wholeness for the body, mind and spirit.Most recently, David served as group CEO for the Primary Health Division and the Multi-State Division of AdventHealth, overseeing 22 campuses across eight states and three regional partnerships. In this role, he was instrumental in the visionary architecture and leadership of a new division designed to provide longitudinal, whole-person primary care across the full clinical and age continuum. Additionally, David has served as AdventHealth’s chief strategy officer, where he provided executive oversight of the development and ongoing execution of Vision 2030, the organization’s strategic 10-year business plan.
