ABOUT DAVID OLINGER
An award-winning career most recently highlighted by my relocation to Kelowna, B.C, in 2022. I relaunched my communications consultancy, Write Stuff Communications, full time in July 2018. Over the years, Write Stuff Communications has worked with clients in all levels of government, as well as school boards, health organizations, the hospitality and agriculture industries, and small business. Returning to communications consulting was preceded by two years employment as Manager of Intergovernmental Affairs at the City of Grande Prairie, Alberta after nearly a decade as Communications and Citizen Engagement Manager at the municipality. Earlier career experience included daily and weekly newspaper reporting and corporate communications in the lottery and education sectors. I strive to find opportunities where I can live up to the Confucius quote,\"Find a job that you love and you will never work another day in your life.\" That has been my greatest career achievement. Volunteer roles professionally have included serving on committees with a chamber of commerce and an economic development corporation. On a community level, I serve as Chair of the Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning. Past volunteer roles include the Volunteer Services Bureau, Big Brothers, the Alberta Seniors Games, a parent council, a swim club, and a theatre group.
