West Suffolk College is a cornerstone member and sponsor of the Eastern Education Group (EEG), a collaborative, charitable educational partnership formed to support students across East Anglia. The College is a key entity within the EEG, which operates as a charitable, corporate group and works alongside Abbeygate Sixth Form College, One Sixth Form College, and the Eastern Education Group Trust (which includes SEND and primary schools) to provide education from early years to adulthood. The College is a statutory Further Education Corporation, while the Eastern Education Group Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust. The EEG operates as a collaborative, ensuring that resources, expertise, and facilities are shared to provide high-quality education across East Anglia. The partnership focuses on improving lives through education, with a strong emphasis on technical skills, apprenticeships, and supporting local industries. In late 2024, West Suffolk College achieved an \'Outstanding\' rating from Ofsted, joining other EEG colleges with the same rating.

Following a very successful 33 year military career rising to the rank of Air Vice-Marshal, I became a high performing CEO in the charitable sector. After 8 thoroughly enjoyable years in the third sector, as CEO of SSAFA and then the RAF Benevolent Fund, I stood down in May 2020 and am currently performing a variety of portfolio roles. During my career, I have also been a Chairman, Governor, Trustee or Director of a number of Charities, spent 3 years as the UK Government representative on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, 3 years as a senior member of the Royal Household and was also an Advisory Board Member to the Office for Veterans Affairs in the Cabinet Office (a Ministerial Appointment). Awarded an MBE in 1996 and an OBE in I was also honoured to be made a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in 2012, in a private audience, for personal service to HM The Queen.
