About David Muellen

Hi, I\'m David Muellen. My career in this field began back in high school learning the basics of how to be a machinist. Little did I know then, where the training and mentorship I received was going to take me. Immediately after graduation I signed my apprenticeship papers to begin my formal training as a Mold Maker. As a true early Millennial, I started crafting my skills on manual Bridgeport mills and engine lathes all the while learning how to manage complex projects with inflexible due dates. True to the concept of a Journeyman, I\'ve never been afraid of looking for new opportunities to learn under others that have mastered their craft. I\'ve used these opportunities to create my wide background of experiences and expertise to really provide a wealth of solutions to problems not easily solved. My real passion however is taking an established process, especially in machining, and improving it so that it runs at it\'s absolute best. A long history of analyzing processes and applying the \"right tool, right application\" methodology has paid phenomenal dividends. In some applications i have successfully reduced cycle time by 50% while reducing tool costs by 40%.
