ABOUT DAVID MILLER

David is an Associate Director with Arup in the Glasgow Office. As a Chartered civil and structural engineer he is responsible for the design, management and commercial delivery of medium – large scale building projects with a capital cost between £1M and £850M. Throughout his time with Arup he has built strong working relationships with team members, colleagues, clients and stakeholders. He has led the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects across multiple UK offices and worked as part of remote teams delivering projects in the Middle East and Europe. His current role is split between project delivery, improving local and sub-region commercial performance, recruitment, resource management, contract advisory services and client facing activities including business development and relationship management. David has successfully completed a LLM in Construction Law with Merit from the University of Strathclyde. In recent years he has received targeted training, designed to suit current and future leadership roles. These include, but are not limited to; advanced negotiation, leadership and management and whole systems thinking. He also completed a Business Economics course jointly curated by Arup University and Imperial College Business School. Modules cover Accounting Primer, Market Fundamentals, Business Strategy, Macroeconomics and Economic Regulation. This assimilation and amplification of new and existing skill sets has resulted in a unique offering of technical and strategic consulting capabilities to clients.He has an interest in data (analytics, management, and visualisation) and the value which can be leveraged through integration with new and disruptive technology.
