ABOUT DAVID METCALF

I am a highly motivated chartered accountant and a respected senior finance leader with over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. I have extensive insurance company controllership experience and my controller roles have encompassed financial and regulatory (including solvency) reporting (including at multinational PLCs), as well as the implementation and maintenance of financial control frameworks, including SOx. I have extensive experience of managing financial close processes, external audits and external audit relationships.I have also led FP & A functions covering monthly MI, Annual Planning, regular forecasting and decision support. I have managed the provision of finance business partnering to a range of businesses. I am delivery focussed and have led and driven process change, IT implementation projects and wider finance transformation in various entities. I have worked on acquisitions, disposals and capital raising projects.I have built and managed high-performing finance teams for many years and contributed at a senior leadership level (including as a CFO) in a variety of organisations. I demonstrate sound judgement and strong commercial awareness and am able to communicate effectively up to Board level. I build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.I have lived and worked in the US, Australia, Malaysia and Greece and worked in a number of countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe as well as the UK. I have also worked in Group, Divisional and Business Unit roles.
