ABOUT DAVID MCNAMARA
Working for the best world-wide program controls firm in the world. Focus on large complex programs. Previously, program lead for national engineering firm, delivering of key projects for transportation clients. Services comprised planning, design, facility assessment, cost management, strategic planning, and delivery of consulting services. The company services civil engineering, architecture, transportation, environmental, planning, construction management, estimating, and program management. Clients include ORD, YUL, MCI, OMA, SFO, HAS, United Airlines, BP, AMD, ExxonMobil, City of Houston, Fed and State agencies. Career project types include office facilities, retail, airports, universities, medical, refinining, power, and manufacturing. Having lectured for a variety of industry groups, and taught a technical class at the University of Houston. My passion supports serial builders in the critical early definition of projects; helping to convert business ideas into defensible projects with a clear plan and budget. One example of this support was to introduce a rail connection to a new intermodal public facility. As a team, we developed the plan, prepared preliminary budgets which ultimately lead to a business case for a multi-million project. On that same project, developed a whole life cost model in order to evaluate a variety of process improvements that supported significant investment for the program. In my current role, I lead assessment tasks for facilities which populate a comprehensive asset management program. These recommendations need to compete for funding with other capital projects and we advise on how to set priorities.
