It is a member of the FTSE 50 and continues to grow rapidly through organic growth and acquisitions.In early 2022 I was promoted to Head of Controls to lead the Informa response to the UK Corporate Governance reforms. I have recruited and manage a team of 7 people who oversee Internal control activities across the Group. Our main focus is to scope and build out the overall control framework, test its effectiveness and track remediation, the scope of team’s activities include Group Wide Controls; Group, Divisional Finance and Global Business Services (GBS) control activities and supporting Divisional and Global Technology managed IT systems.On joining Informa in mid 2018, I established the second line of defence GBS Internal Controls team, who monitor effective financial control design and operation across our 7 shared service centres around the World. The Head of GBS Controls reports directly to me and manages a team of 3 covering the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions. The team is currently implementing Audit Board.Global Processes within the scope of the GBS team’s responsibilities include Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report, HR Shared Services, Payroll, Tax Compliance and Back Office Treasury.A key requirement of my current role is to maintain effective working relationships and communications with internal stakeholders across Informa, including the Group CFO, Group Finance, other Group Function Leads, Divisional Finance Leaders, Global Business Services, including the Global Process Owners, IT Assurance, the Heads of the SAP and Oracle Platforms and Informa’s Internal Audit team and its External Auditor.
