ABOUT DAVID MCILWAINE
David is a partner in Pinsent Masons LLP and heads the firm\'s TMT Disputes and Cyber practice. He specialises in dispute resolution and renegotiation in the IT, data, outsourcing and communications sectors. On cyber, David provides full cyber life-cycle services, including cyber readiness (and regulatory compliance), incident response and regulatory challenge and litigation.David has acted on numerous large scale and technically complex TMT projects on behalf of both suppliers and users. He assists clients to re-assess the project and to take remedial action by way of termination, re-negotiation or otherwise. David has led the re-negotiation of substantial IT contracts, resulting in the implementations being salvaged. David has considerable experience of cyber issues and data disputes. He assists clients to respond to data incidents and to deal with their regulatory obligations (e.g. under GDPR and NIS) and any subsequent litigation. He speaks regularly on data risk and was recently seconded to the legal team within the National Cyber Security Centre.
