About David Martorana

In May of 2021, I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor\'s in Industrial & Systems Engineering. My interests included operations research, simulation, SQL, and manufacturing. This culminated in my senior design project at Honda\'s plant in Lincoln, AL. I also minored in Finance, where my main interest was in real estate.Upon graduation, I took a civilian engineering role with the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base. This role led to professional growth in the areas of contract management, cost control, and performance assessment. I was able to travel to Air Force test sites along the coast of Florida, as well as the Landing Gear Test Facility and Air Vehicle Survivability Facility at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. In May of 2022, I decided to take my experience to Harris Robinson Construction. In this role, I manage commercial construction projects to make sure they get completed correctly, on time, and within budget.

I do this by:• Coordinating material selection and installation details with Architects and Engineers to ensure that everything is built correctly.• Creating realistic construction schedules that work around the needs of the client and meet the deadlines required.• Managing unexpected costs to ensure that projects remain in budget.• Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that task scheduling is done in everyone’s best interest.
