The UMMC Chief Clinical Officer’s (CCO) role is to promote and champion quality, foster clinical effectiveness and to engender/ implement a culture of excellence in professionalism and team-based delivery of clinical service. As CCO, Dr. Marcozzi leads evidence-based programs, practices and activities and establish clear processes to monitor performance against stated goals and assure accountability for performance as measured by quality, service and financial outcomes. Working with leadership across UMMS and the UM School of Medicine, as well as UMMC Clinical Service Chiefs, physicians, nurses and other clinical programs, Dr. Marcozzi oversees the development and implementation of clinical initiatives focused on optimizing clinical operations as well as improving patient access, services and quality/safety outcomes by utilizing a data driven, process-focused and outcomes-oriented approach.
