ABOUT DAVID MALACARNE

Research Associate working on applied economic consulting projects across insurance and public policy, with a focus on using causal inference to inform real-world decisions.Currently involved in a large-scale randomised controlled trial evaluating financial education interventions for a major insurance company, contributing to empirical analysis, client communication, and the translation of results into actionable recommendations.I hold a double MSc in Policy Analysis from LSE and Bocconi, with a strong background in applied microeconomics, labour markets, and migration. My thesis applied a shift-share instrumental-variables strategy to estimate the causal impact of tax-incentive-driven skilled return migration on local economic outcomes in Italy.I also contribute to applied policy work as a volunteer analyst at the VOYCE think tank, supporting quantitative analysis on migration and labour-market outcomes for policy stakeholders, including European institutions.Let’s connect if you’re interested in applied microeconomics or quantitative policy analysis!
