Reporting to the Fleet Asset Manager (DMU’s) as Fleet Engineer for the Angel Trains Limited owned Class 158, Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) fleets. The role includes:• Engineering responsibility for all engineering aspects associated with the fleets including level 5 overhaul, refurbishment, maintenance and modifications.• Review of National Incident Reports (NIRs) and their applicability to the fleets.• Liaison with and employment of Consultants (TESCOs) as and when required.• Representation of Angel Trains Technical Services department at Lease Review and lead Technical Review meetings with the relevant Train Operating Company (TOC). • Generation and review of Engineering Changes proposed either by Angel Trains or the TOC.• Generation and maintenance of the Fleet Management Plans for the Class 158, Abellio ScotRail, Arriva Trains Wales, Arriva Rail Northern and East Midlands Trains.• Investigation into vehicle defects• Engineering support to re-franchising bidsThe major part of the role is to ensure that the asset (i.e. the vehicles) are protected against loss/deterioration from an engineering point of view such as obsolescence of components and to ensure that the vehicles remain viable in terms of any future lease opportunities
