Under the direct leadership of the Rev. Dr. David Maack, the Lutheran Mission Society of Maryland, continues its century old mission serving over 500 people a day. Through its Compassion Centers, and thanks to the good will of volunteers and donations from the community, this not-for-profit organization brings comfort to those in need. Clothing, food, furniture and housewares are among the items available. There are ten Compassion Centers in the Maryland / Southern Pennsylvania area. In addition to providing help with tangible goods, there are shoulders for crying on, ears for listening, arms for hugging, and professional counseling available for all needs.
