A LIcensed Clinical Psychologist, Certified Addictions Professional and a state of Florida Qualified Supervisor with over 30 years in the field of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment. Proven leadership in the healthcare field. Ensuring top quality care to thousands of individuals and providing program development, supervision and administrative oversight to nationally known programs, treatment centers and agencies.He has worked in the field of mental health and addiction for 31 years, beginning his career in 1993.He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida International University and his Masters and Doctoral degrees from The Miami Institute of Psychology.He has been licensed as a Psychologist since 2002 and has a proven record as a healthcare management professional. Dr. Ockman brings a broad range of experiences to his clinical management role at Lifeskills South Florida with a focus on administering evidenced based programming for acute and chronic mental illness and addictions.His areas of expertise include clinical administration, clinical interventions, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and the treatment of Co-Occurring Disorders.He has served in therapeutic/residential communities, hospital settings and state regulatory positions. He has spent most of his career utilizing DBT, CBT and MET modalities and finding ways to provide the most effective strategies for individualizing patient care.In addition, Dr. Ockman spent seven years as one of the supervising Psychologists of pre-doctoral interns and post-docs for an APPIC approved training program, preparing psychology professionals for their lifelong goals of helping clients and their families.Lastly, he is well known in South Florida as a private practice practitioner and has been in private practice for 20 years. Currently with an office at Atlantic Behavioral Health Professionals located in Pompano Beach. He was born and raised in South Florida and enjoys finding great places in Florida to take his wife and two children. He is also a UF and NSU dad!
