Human-systems integration (human factors) for the Robotics and Intelligence for Human Spacecraft Team working on the Gateway Lunar space station. Responsible for systems integration between the human operators (astronaut flight crew and ground controllers) and the Vehicle Systems Manager autonomous control system for the Gateway spacecraft. Perform task and allocation of function analyses between the automation and human operators and assign levels of automation. Develop use cases for human-computer interactions (HCI) and authored autonomous control subsystem requirements. Draft and review ConOps, subsystem specifications, and interface control documents (ICD) for human factors requirements. Authored Human Systems Integration Plan (HSIP) for integration of human factors into the VSM control system. Perform Software Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SW-FMEA). Authored Gateway program-wide Emergency, Warning, Caution & Advisory (EWCA) philosophy document to harmonize caution and warning alert annunciations across modules on the vehicle. Designed usability verification and validation (V&V) procedures for human-computer interaction requirements. Design and conduct Human Factors Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (HF-FMEA). Developed Spacecraft Computer Usability Survey Index (SCUSI) non-parametric, psychometric test for human-computer interaction and usability. Developed Spacecraft Cognitive Reliability and Error Analysis Method (SCREAM) adopting CREAM to human spaceflight operations. Perform Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) for verification and validation of HCI requirements. Coordinate human-system integration between Gateway and Orion spacecraft control operation for common and consistent interaction. Serve on Gateway HSI Working Group, Gateway Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design Team, Gateway VSM Working Group, and the Exploration Human Rating Integrated Task Team as a subject matter expert in HSI and HCI.
