Manager, Nuclear Energy Safety Technologies Department
Sep 2024 — Present · Albuquerque, NM, US
We develop nuclear reactor safety technology in support of the U.S. and international nuclear energy sectors. Our department is principally responsible for development and application of the MELCOR nuclear energy safety assessment code suite package. It was originally developed to analyze nuclear power reactor accidents that could lead to release of radiation to the environment. Its flexible representation of a range of phenomena relevant to system behavior under accident conditions has led to a much broader range of application to safety assessment of advanced nuclear energy technologies and nuclear facilities. The software enables assessment of the potential for consequences to public health and safety that is typically performed by the Sandia-developed MELCOR Accident Consequence Code System (MACCS).
