ABOUT DAVID KUELZ
WHAT I DO: I\'ve spent the last 10+ years helping small to mid-sized developers increase their revenue by creating addictive, tell-your-friends-about-it stories. I work both directly as a narrative designer and writer, but also in a consulting capacity.WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT: Because I\'ve spent the last decade as a freelance storyteller and consultant, I\'ve worked on nearly every genre of game with nearly every type and size of team. That\'s given me a wide base of experience working with a multitude of narrative design techniques - which helps me sniff out the best possible narrative strategy for the scope, strengths, and budget of your project.WHAT TYPES OF GAMES HAVE I WORKED ON:🧩 Puzzle Games Sci-Fi Adventure Games🦘 2D Platformers🧙 Open-World Fantasy RPGs Competitive-Multiplayer JRPGs (if you haven\'t heard of that genre - soft brag incoming - I think it\'s because we were the first!)🥽 VR Games Romance/Dating Sims Voice-Controlled Games (Think \"Siri\" or \"Hey You, Pikachu\") Competitive Turn-Based Strategy Games F2P Mobile Games Theater/Game Hybrids (Imagine New York City\'s \"Sleep No More\" mixed with \"Pokémon Go\") Strategy RPGs Horror Games Visual Novel GamesExperimental Games (I once got to make a VR game that was ALSO a personality test - which was both very fun AND very trippy to design!)WHERE HAVE I SPOKEN: I\'ve spoken about, or taught, interactive storytelling and narrative design at:• Princeton University• Narrascope• Gameacon• TEDx• The Gotham Writers\' Workshop• Playcrafting• The Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Techology• Montalvo Arts CenterWHO I WORK WITH: 1) Small to mid-sized game developers who need expertise in narrative design and scriptwriting2) Writers, directors, and storytellers from traditionally non-interactive mediums (literature, film, theater, etc) who are interested in expanding their work into new fields3) Game developers outside of the United States who need insights into the American market and audience4) Corporate clients interested in expanding their brand and services into games.READY TO TALK?Connect with me here on LinkedIn, visit me at awkwardpegasus.com, or email me at a••••••••@gmail.com
