About David Kingsley

I have over 10 years of academic experience applying engineering principles for biomedical applications. The primary focus of my skills has been the development of biofabrication tools and technologies for tissue engineering and design of in vitro model systems. I applied these model systems within oncology for studies of tumor heterogeneity, metastasis, and drug resistance and within neurobiology for studies of pain, sensitization, and novel analgesics. In addition, I have significant experience both adopting and developing assays. In one project, I expanded the use of an optical coherence tomography system (a 3D mesoscopic imaging device) for longitudinal quantification of 3D growth and morphology of tumor organoids during development and in response to chemotherapeutics.
