ABOUT DAVID JOHNSON

I am an experienced Chartered Engineer and Company Director, having worked on the delivery of many exciting projects, on iconic buildings, all over the world.In September 2015 I joined JCA Engineering who are an energetic, pragmatic and focussed engineering and construction organisation. In August 2018, I was invited to join the board at JCA Engineering where my role is strategic:I head up the Design & Consultancy division that offers clients a unique proposition. My hugely experienced team and I can offer clients high quality, informative, design and consultancy services but also offer clients \'design and build\' solutions by integrating with the wider JCA organisation.I am also involved with company sales & marketing with a view to grow, develop and diversify the business whilst maintaining focus on clients and projects.Engineering has clearly become somewhat of a passion of mine. The importance of a well-considered engineering design and its implementation has never been as important as it is today for clients and stakeholders and its influence in the overall success of any project.My project experience is in the following sectors: corporate real estate, oil and gas, healthcare, government, critical engineering, large scale residential, pharmaceutical and life sciences.I consider myself a people person and always try to promote good communication amongst project teams. I am also a firm believer in collaborative working and I encourage the use of modern collaborative processes such as BIM/digital engineering and try to influence practical engineering decisions. I consider myself fortunate to work in design, where I can influence decisions and contribute to many issues such as; energy reduction, de-carbonisation, well-being in the workplace as well as promotion of new building techniques such as modular construction. This also extends to the engineering evaluation of buildings as an asset where performance and lifecycle can be considered. I am also very proud to have worked on many technically challenging projects in healthcare, particularly during the global pandemic.Other than individual project achievements, I consider my greatest achievement, so far, in my 30 years + career to be co-founding, in 1998, a successful building services consultancy that in a 17-year period delivered projects globally for many prestigious clients. The decision to sell my holdings in the company gave way to an exceptional opportunity for me to join JCA Engineering.My career aim is to positively extend my work experiences and to make a difference.
