I lead the Digital Solutions Team for the Design and Advanced Technology Practice under the Infrastructure Engineering Department. My leadership enables teams to achieve the collective ambition of digital transformation within the business. I guide and influence individuals that span across Digital Engineering Solutions, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Tool Owners, Software Development, and Project Delivery.Middle Level System River Management Scheme (MLSRMS)The Middle Level Commissioners (MLC), tasked with managing flood risk and navigation across a vast system, sought to enhance flood defences and water conveyance. My leadership in developing a computational design solution revolutionised their approach. The MLSRMS Project Challenge: Analysing 196km of embankments to assess flood defences. Traditional methods would have been significantly slow and error-prone. I spearheaded the creation of computational design-based algorithms, automating the analysis process and delivering an unprecedented level of accuracy (5m intervals vs. the 500m possible with traditional methods). Empowering Early, Data-Driven Decisions: This innovation provided critical insights early in the project, fostering collaboration with the client and enabling informed decision-making. It has unlocked a new industry standard for efficiency and precision in flood defence assessments. Fostering a Culture of Innovation: I successfully integrated this solution with the existing team, nurturing a collaborative environment that encouraged innovation. By recognising and leveraging individual strengths, I empowered team members to further develop the computational solution, significantly improving project delivery workflows.
