ABOUT DAVID JACOBS

Personal StatementWith 20+ years experience of working in medical diagnostics in a variety of roles, I have gained a wide skill set which makes me a versatile asset to any customer focused team. I have experienced many laboratory disciplines, from in-house QC, NHS Biochemistry, Immunology and Haematology, Commercial and academic clinical research, Clinical trials, Veterinary diagnostics and Category 3 confinement. I have trained and supported customers in the use of RIA coated tube, micro plate, coated bead and PCR based assays, related automated instrumentation and software and feel that I possess the ability to effectively communicate using technical understanding with both customers and colleagues regardless of age, culture or rank. Whilst I know the commercial pressures that are part of a customer driven competitive market, I am also aware of the constraints that exist in production manufacturing and the impact this can have on product supply. My return to University in 2004 was a beneficial experience, in addition to achieving my Qualified Teacher Status; I also learnt useful commercial skills in the areas of research, product design, graphic design, and design for manufacture. Whilst I enjoy many aspects of my current employment I am looking for a service engineering/technical role, which offers daily challenges and reward as part of a team.
