About David Jacob
For almost 30 years, I have been working toward creating innovative ways of teaching students and helping teachers to do the same. My background working in education includes national, state, regional, district, and building leadership. I have focused on professional learning for teachers, curriculum design (K-12), and most importantly classroom instruction. I believe it is the job of everyone in education to focus on the experience of the student in the classroom, despite the pressures of budget, standards, initiatives, politics, parent pressures, and other distractions.The work of educators is to continue to find new ways of reaching students by focusing on rigor and helping every child reach their potential. My greatest theoretical influences are John Dewey, Wiggins, and McTighe, and CA Tomlinson. We can leave no child behind, but there may be different pathways and different endpoints. All students should have access and opportunities to public education. I am an educator by trade and a science educator by nature.\"Everybody is a genius.
