Mountain Training is the awarding body for qualifications in walking, climbing and mountaineering.I\'ve held the Mountain Leader award since 2016 and the Rock Climbing Instructor award since 2007. I started working in the outdoors when I began training in 2006 and in addition to mountaineering have experience delivering kayaking, dinghy sailing, raft building, orienteering, skiing, archery & technical high ropes courses.The Mountain Leader award provides training and assessment in the technical and group management skills required by those who wish to lead groups in the mountains, hills and moorlands of the UK. It integrates experience, training and assessment in what could be challenging and testing conditions in mountainous country.The Rock Climbing Instructor award was known as the Single Pitch Award (SPA) until 2018. It enables experienced rock climbers to instruct climbing and abseiling on single pitch crags without intermediate belay stances and on artificial climbing walls, towers or structures.
