ABOUT DAVID HURST

I’m an Eagle Scout and graduate from Indiana University with a degree in Screenwriting and Script Analysis. There’s no film school at IU, so I used the Individualized Major Program to create my own. After graduation I bought the cheapest car on the lot and moved to LA to find a job in entertainment. Trust me when I say that everyone has their own crazy story of how they broke in… but that’s for another time. I primarily worked in scripted development and production, learning how to write and pitch shows and movies for different studio and network audiences. Most notably, I helped launch the scripted division for Lincoln Square Productions at ABC News, managing the scripted development slate for LSP and Rock’n Robin Productions. In 2020, I transitioned from entertainment to advertising and currently work across the branded, unbranded, and special events space for the digital-native agency closerlook. I discovered a passion for bringing patient voices to life through written features and video content on a website for a rare disease community, and I’ve developed agency best practices while promoting and producing virtual events with the special events team. Recently, I was the dedicated writer for a virtual event promoting the launch of a first-of-its-kind treatment and served as a writer for other launch materials. Post-launch, I’ve taken a lead writing role as a steward for the brand and its messaging. Some of my branded work includes a TV spot, PSP video, MOA video, and a comprehensive education deck that covers MOD/MOA, clinical trial results, efficacy/safety, dosing information, and getting started on treatment.Yukon Ho!
