ABOUT DAVID HARTLEY

Engineering leader with experience in product development, programme delivery, and organisational growth. Curious, pragmatic, and always focused on improvement, value creation, and enabling people to perform at their best.I’m driven by a deep curiosity for how things work, a commitment to solving meaningful problems, and a belief in continuous improvement. I work with integrity, respect, and transparency — and I value building environments where teams can perform at their best.My background began in hands-on product engineering, before evolving into leading complex vehicle programmes, supplier development, organisational capability, and multi-disciplinary teams. Along the way, I’ve learned that successful delivery relies on the alignment of three things: clear technical direction, robust processes, and empowered people.I’ve applied this approach to:• Building and developing high-performing, multi-discipline engineering teams• Defining and delivering class-leading physical products• Managing complex programmes on time, on cost, and to quality targets• Developing supply chains and strengthening key supplier partnerships• Leading cross-functional problem solving in highly constrained environments• Designing and improving business processes, systems, and ways of workingIn senior management roles, I’ve focused on bringing clarity, structure, and accountability to engineering organisations — while enabling people to grow and contribute at a high level.
