ABOUT DAVID HARRIS

David is a graduate in social sciences and has worked for a large UK clearing bank, a firm of human resource consultants, and a large heavy engineering company. In the latter of these, David advised the directors during the privatisation and management buyout of the company, and subsequently headed the strategy function of the ‘new construction’ division (turnover £1.5 billion) where he was responsible for all aspects of strategic business planning. David also managed, and assisted with, tenders for new business. During this period, the organisation won new contracts worth in excess of five billion pounds. In 1991 David joined ATC, one of the largest training organisations in the UK, as Business Development Manager. There he began teaching a range of subjects including Management, Strategy and Information Management. David is now highly regarded in the industry as one of the foremost lecturers in these specialist areas. In 1995 David joined the recently formed International subsidiary of ATC, providing tuition in English for accountancy students throughout Central Europe and the former Soviet Union. David was Director of Human Resources, responsible for the recruitment, induction, development and management of the tutor team. Active in his Institute, David was engaged by CIMA as a technical consultant on product development issues until 2011. David was also examiner for CIMA’s Business Strategy examination from 2005 to 2009. Chevin Consultants provided consultancy and/or training services to most of the UK’s large accountancy firms, Cadbury-Schweppes, BAT, Philip Morris, the NHS, the Government Accountancy Service, and a wide range of SME organisations. David specialised in coaching top teams through the strategic planning process, and in cultural intervention and futurology. David now works with @HTFT Partnership, creating radical education solutions. Specialties: Strategy consulting (mainly for SMEs, but often for larger organisations), knowledge management projects, research, technical (business/finance) authoring
