About David Hannon

David Hannon is a Professional Engineer with more than fifteen years of transportation experience. He is currently working for HNTB to help GDOT deliver their Major Mobility Investment Program.David Previously worked as the Chief Operating Officer for the I-77 Mobility Partners concessionaire company. This company is a subsidiary Cintra, US. David is overseeing the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of 26 miles of new HOT lanes along I-77 in North Charlotte.Prior to joining Cintra, David spent four years working at HNTB and with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), helping to manage their Design-Build program. Activities during this time include plan reviews, quality verification, facilitating meetings, management of pre and post award Design-Build projects. While working for HNTB David was asked by Georgia Institute of Technology to participate in a unique research project identifying efficiency opportunities in Design-Build project delivery and management. This research included interviews with seven leading State DOTs on best practices for managing Design-Build projects and writing a guidebook on management strategies that will be published in the Fall 2013. Prior to joining HNTB David designed projects for a range of clients that includes a wide range of project types including roadway design, storm drainage design, site development and traffic engineering. His areas of expertise include design-build contract management, Design-Build project delivery, Design-Build project management, horizontal and vertical curve design, rural and urban storm drainage design, and erosion control prevention design.
