   Recovery is, in reality, a journey requiring serious commitment to achieve healthy living and long-term change. It is not an easy, smooth or straight path. I am professionally recognized by clients and peer professionals as a substantive change partner who engages individuals in serious and committed change and one who stays passionately involved through the twists and turns that can lead to wholeness and change. Expertise in professionally guiding recovery participants beyond their present situation/relationship with substances and/or unwanted behaviors, formulating next-steps to begin healthy living and supporting them to achieve an agreeable solution to change. Knowing that change is hard for those involved in substance use disorders and unwanted compulsive behaviors, highly skilled in determining one’s willingness to accept and implement solutions to the current behaviors that are holding someone captive and provide recovery strategies that can be implemented immediately to bring about wanted change. Skilled in exploring causality and origins of behaviors (trauma, shame, anxiety, isolation, etc.) in order to break cycles of unwanted behaviors without focusing strictly on symptomology and consequences. Expertise in guiding clients to engage in cognitive restructuring sessions regarding their current unwanted patterns of behavior in order to facilitate long-term change. For more complex cases, I have access within our group to additional intensive therapies such as neurofeedback designed to minimize impulse behaviors as well as access to advanced medically assisted treatments with on-sight medical professionals. Where required, provide effective referral services for advanced treatment, both inpatient and intensive outpatient whenever appropriate to their level of needed care.
