About David Glenn

David Glenn is the Manager of Texas State Government Affairs at Intersect Power. At Intersect Power, David is responsible for tracking legislative and regulatory activity in the state of Texas, including the legislature, Public Utility Commission, and ERCOT. He supports the company\'s legislative and development priorities related to solar, wind, storage, and data center energy park development, from initial develoment to final construction and operation. He develops long range advocacy and political plans to support the company\'s rapid growth. David Glenn previously served as the Senior Director of Government Affairs at the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin. At the HBA, David oversaw all regulatory and legislative functions within the Association\'s jurisdiction, which encompasses 30+ cities and seven counties in central Texas. David worked with city, county, and state elected officials and staff to deal with issues affecting the home building industry. During the 85th Legislature, he served as Chief of Staff for State Representative Shawn Thierry. He oversaw Rep. Thierry\'s legislative package of over 30 bills relating to issues like housing, maternal mortality, education, and juvenile justice. He also wrote public facing materials such as press releases, speeches, newsletters, and talking points on legislation and other topics. During the 84th Legislature, David served as the Legislative Director for State Representative Marsha Farney. In this role, he staffed the House Committee on Public Education. He oversaw 16 bills, half of which became law. After the 84th, David worked for the Texas Land Title Association as the Government Affairs Assistant. His primary role was to administer the TLTA Political Action Committee. He also assisted with legislative and regulatory issues affecting the title insurance industry. During the 83rd Legislature, he served as Assistant Committee Clerk for the House Committee on Transportation, chaired by Rep. Larry Phillips. Prior to working at the Capitol, David worked at Focused Advocacy as the Legislative Coordinator. David serves on the board of the Austin Symphony\'s Be At The Symphony young professional organization and the ATXelerator civics program. He performs as a member of the Austin Cinematic Symphony, an ensemble dedicated to classic and contemporary show tunes. He also serves as a Director on the Municipal Utility Board for Pilot Knob #2. In his spare time, David can be found enjoying all types of music around Austin.
