ABOUT DAVID GIBSON
As a partner in the Enfranchisement department, David works on lease extensions, freehold sales and purchases and leasehold advice. He also deals with lease variations and consents, including leasehold matters for companies and individuals who own flats or freeholds subject to long leases.David supervises and trains junior lawyers, trainees and support staff and is responsible for knowledge sharing within the leasehold team. David is his team’s representative for business development and chairs the firm’s business development group, dealing with cross referrals, new business, content production and networking. David trained at Thackray Williams between 20••••15, qualified in 2015 and has worked as a solicitor there until 2019 when he was promoted to the role of associate solicitor. He has specialised in leasehold reform legislation since qualification. This is a niche area and as such, he is keen to make sure clients do not get caught out by the various pitfalls that exist when dealing with leasehold matters. Always doing his best to make a complicated area of law as easy to understand as possible, David strives to give excellent and friendly client service, as well as solid and reliable advice wherever he can and will aim to leave clients feeling secure their matter is being dealt with thoroughly. His aim is to equip clients with advice so they are able to make decisions about their properties confidently, knowing that even in a difficult situation, they are making the best possible choices.David has volunteered his services at the Bromley Landlord and Tenant fair, giving out free advice. He has also attended careers events for local schools, as well as volunteering at Bromley’s homeless shelter. In the years before qualifying as a solicitor and working for Thackray Williams, David has interned for Unisys dealing with employment law, for Beeley and Co, dealing with Personal Injury law, for Her Majesty\'s Courts and Tribunal Service dealing with civil litigation claims, and for the University of the Third Age as an administrator.Outside work, David plays drums in an alternative rock band. He enjoys watching live music, cookery and DIY.
