ABOUT DAVID GERECKE

I am a highly experienced business lawyer with a focus on lending and restructuring/insolvency matters. I provide value and knowledge to lenders by advising them on structuring their security and have worked on numerous transactions involving multiple jurisdictions. I have developed a deep knowledge of Bank Act security along with Saskatchewan legislation and case law that can affect lenders’ ability to obtain recovery. In my insolvency and restructuring practice I mainly represent creditors and court officers, such as receivers, along with security enforcement on behalf of creditors. I also have represented parties in bankruptcies, proposals to creditors, receiverships and CCAA matters. I also actively practise in other business law fields such as corporate/commercial, M&A, Aboriginal business, and technology licensing. I have handled many incorporations and corporate re-organizations.I have extensive experience in commercial litigation and administrative law, and have made many appearances at all levels of courts in Saskatchewan, as well as the Federal Court and many administrative tribunals.Chambers Canada has recognized me as a leading Saskatchewan lawyer in Corporate/Commercial (2019).
